Deuce here.

Well, Mom finally took me to the Dog Park! It’s about time!

The weather has been cooler in the mornings, and she said she needed more pictures for the Black Dog Diaries, and I agreed!  I am highly handsome, but the black and white theme of Me and more Me was needing some color!

So here is some dog park color for all of you dog blog fans out there.

Yaaa cooler weather!

Molly

10.18 Molly

Well, Mom finally took me to the park again! We have been doing all this “off leash” stuff, and I reminded her that the dog park was also “off leash”, so off we went! We need more pictures for The Black Dog Diaries!

First, Mom took me on an off leash walk down our road. Nothing new, so I stayed by her pretty close, except for one time when I saw a rabbit and gave it a chase. I must have picked on the same rabbit that a hawk had its eye on, too, because the hawk came up into the air and then ’swooped’ me. I kinda ’swooped’ back up at it, so it flew up higher, but as I ran further down the road it followed me. Mom said it was chasing me, but I’m so fast it couldn’t catch me.

Leslie here. Indeed the hawk gave chase. For one brief moment I thought Deuce was going to get pecked on the head (he’s way too big to be carried off aloft) but the hawk just followed him, and then flew up to a chimney on one of the neighbor’s houses and glared at us. One lucky rabbit, I suspect.

Hey! Deuce here! This is my blog, isn’t it? As I was saying…

After the walking and swooping and ‘wait’ and ‘come’,  Mom took me to the car and said “UP” which means get in, and then “scootch over” which means I can’t sit where she does, to drive, and we went to the gas station.  I ‘wait’ while Mom gets out. She says I do that very well. Then we went to the toyfood store and got a bag of food, a box of cookies, a new bone, and another Kong.  I met a nice girl at the checkout counter, and let her give me treats. The ’shake’ command is coming in very hand-ey..er…paw-ey. You know what I mean. It gets the girls and the treats!

Then…finally…Mom took me to the Dog Park.

It was later than early, so the park was quiet.  There was one very nice dog to play with. Her name is Molly, and we had met once before. She’s a bagel…no…a beagle, Mom says.  Well, we had fun. She kept teasing me, so I kept letting her.

10.18 Ready!

Our people talked a long time, because it was such very nice weather. It has stopped being very hot. Now it’s just nice. So Molly and I played and played. I think she likes me. What’s not to like, I might ask?

10.18 How’s this?

When we got home, I got breakfast, which was at lunch time, but we call it dinner anyway. Call it what you like, just feed me!

Life is getting pretty good around here. I think it’s the weather. And the Kong. And the girls. All of it, yep, all of it.

Deuce

P  S  Hey Mom! It’s time for a new bigger red collar, ya think? Guess we’ll have to go back to the toyfood store and see that nice girl that gives out treats…er…I mean, where they sell the collars.

Park of Many Dogs

Leslie here.

Sometimes the dog park is SO busy that I can’t get any pictures. Today was one of those days. Both sides of the park were hopping, and the dogs were all so happy to be there. The weather was beautiful.

All the dogs were so busy having fun, that none of them stood still long enough to have a picture snapped. When I did get pictures, most of the pups look exhausted!

It was great fun. Enjoy the pictures I did get!

Leslie

Deuce here.

I met two of the nicest girls this morning.  Their names are Ella and Emma.

Mom says they are Saints. That’s cool. All I know is they play real nice, and slobber all over me very much. It’s really very cool. It’s more fun to be slobber bathed by some nice dogs at the dog park, than to be rinsed off at home with the hose. I DID have to get rinsed off, too, but if you have to be rinsed, might as well need it.

What a great morning. Here’s what I learned…if two great big dogs want to play with you at the same time, running away is an option.  And if they both chase you, watch out for the one that  T-bones ya!

Thanks Ella and Emma’s Mom, for letting them stay and play some. I really liked it!

Deuce slept ALL Day, and didn’t ask for an evening walk. When he woke up from his ‘nap’, he walked a little stiff,  like he had a good workout!  Thanks Emma and Ella!

You are the first St. Bernards in the Black Dog Diaries, too!
