I have made 96 drawings in a little over three months. Whew.
Life is getting in the way presently, so I am drawing as I can, which is to say, not every day.
I hope to return to my madcap drawing as soon as possible.
Here are my excuses…
As I write this, I am waiting for a phone call from the veterinary surgeon telling me that the Deuce man is finished with his surgery and is recovering in his cage in morphine drip la-la land.
He is undergoing a knee surgery to fix a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament.
Ow.
Lots of pre-surgery diagnostic and testing visits and general business surrounding the dog has kept me in a tilted mode.
Speaking of tilted, somewhere in there I lost a few days to BPPV.
Geeez. Just when I was making a dent in the cache of colored pencils.
Well…those are my excuses. The next ones will be called “Christmas” and “New Years”…
Leslie
It seems you are having it a little rough, Leslie. Here’s hoping you have some smooth stuff soon.

Ow, poor Deuce. What the heck happened?!
And I’m sorry to hear you had another spell with the BPPV. Sucks.
Off now to go check out your flickr file.

Looked at the drawings and thought, “Damn, she’s good!” But I knew that already…

And a wonderful Christmas to you and yours.

Thank you, everyone! (that almost sounded like Tiny Tim there for a sec)
Deuce is doing well. We are at the very beginning of recovery, but he’s ambulatory, good appetite, good output. Takes his meds.
He’s bored and mischievous, which is good…er…bad.
I am no longer any more dizzy than typical. Bad sinusitis kicked it all off.
Geez…ya get to a certain age and ya just fall apart. I think I’ll go buy some health insurance…
Started working on the drawings again.
Go take a look.
Thanks all!!

Poor Deuce.
And poor you — the “fun” part has only begun, as you assiduously adhere to the “TOTAL CRATE REST” rule……………
Do — the alternative is worse…………………
As part of CorgiAid I am aware of many corgis who (with their people) have suffered through this, and it’s gotta be an order of magnitude worse for a border collie…………………..
I, too, have had that temporary vestibular thing.
Woke up one morning a couple of years ago with my head spinning……… I went to the U’s health service, as I am wont to do, and was put through a maneuver, and sent home with instructions for repeating same at home (with help). And Bonine………..
I was lucky, the second time we did the maneuver at home just magically fixed it, and I’ve had no recurrence. [knocking on wood............]
I do have the directions for the maneuver in my suitcase, so that even if I am not close to the internet, I’ve got the instructions!
And finally, yes, health insurance is Good. Very Good.

Vicki In Michigan… the “maneuver” worked for me! Any doctor that doesn’t insist on the maneuver first, should be spanked.
Deuce is doing well. He is not on crate rest, but our instructions were he could walk freely around the house…with emphasis on “no jumping or running” being the main concerns.
He doesn’t get on furniture to begin with (I’m a meanie) but he does get excited about meals. So we are learning to “sit and wait” as the food bowl goes down. No more of that “display of enthusiasm” stuff!
He’s doing well, but I am ready to get to February 3rd for the xray to check progress, and begin physical rehab.

Hey, Will! I was getting one done a day for a bit, but now I’ve turned into a complete slacker and only get one up on occasion. Life do get in the way!
Plenty cold, I bet.
How’s the River?
